Drager offer the ABEK P3 filter range as a means of protection from both toxic gases and vapors and also particles. This particular filter is an ABEK Class 1 Hg P3 R D filter which protects against a wide range of gases and particles. See the spec table for more information on the gases.
The filter class indicates the filters’ capacity and protects against class 1 gases and vapours. To determine whether this filter is suitable for your application it’s important to know the maximum permissible concentration of the substance you’re working with and the occupational exposure limit. The coloured rings around the casing of the filter will help identify which gases the gas filter protects against and whether it is suitable for particles.
This particular ABEK filter can be reused (for more than one work shift), however it’s important that you’re able to tell when your filter has come to the end of its life and can no longer be used.

The Drager AX is a special type of gas filter with an Rd40 standard connection. The AX part of the gas filter will protect against gases and vapours of organic compounds with boiling point = 65 °C. The gas filter has an Rd40 connection in accordance to EN 148-1. This makes it suitable for masks with a standard connection including the X-plore 4340, 4740 and X-plore 6300. It can be used in applications including chemicals, automobiles, shipbuilding, metal processing and public utilities.

This A2B2P3 combination filter from Drager Safety offers protection against different gases and particulates. The gas filter part protects against gases and vapors of organic compounds and also inorganic gases and vapors. The particle part of the filter protects against dust and particulates and is up to 99.95% efficient in doing so. It’s also approved as a filter TH/M3 A2B2 P SL R (EN 12941/12942) for the Drager X-plore® 7500. It has an Rd40 thread connection which is standard in accordance to EN 148-1.
A huge range of applications can be faced using the A2B2P3 filter and Drager half and full face masks (with Rd40 connection). Although the filter is classed as reusable it’s important to note that its usage depends on a number of factors. This includes your breathing resistance, the temperature and the atmosphere around you.
